anxiety

anxiety
for clarinet, viola, violoncello, and piano

Raised on choral music, this work is a culmination of the composer’s studies at Webster University under Kim Portnoy and Dr. David Werfelmann. Written for the Webster University Wet Ink Project in 2019, this was premiered at the composer’s Senior Recital. The work itself explores the emotion of anxiety from a musical perspective. Repetitive motives, pounding rhythms, and contrasting musical lines in a variety of atonal modes create an intricate, emotional piece.
